Bakang Farms: Ancestral Tradition
An 8-hectare sanctuary in Dikhudu dedicated to the preservation of traditional Botswana farming. Guided by the rains and seasonal rhythms of our ancestors.
The Traditional WayThe Rhythm of the Earth
Located roughly 25km to 45km west of Thamaga near Kubung, Bakang Farms operates in harmony with the natural climate of the Kweneng District. Here, modernization is set aside in favor of Traditional Farming at its Best.
Our land is ploughed once a year, between October and February, strictly following the rainfall patterns. We utilize the Open Ranch method for livestock, honoring the heritage of the region.
We are the guardians of Botswana’s agricultural soul, ensuring that the food on our table is grown exactly as it has been for generations.
Traditional Heritage
Specializing in Botswana staple crops: Maize, Sorghum, Sugar Cane, and Beans. Grown with zero modernization—purely seasonal and traditional.
Open Ranch Livestock
Practicing ancestral small-stock and large farming methods across the rustic, undeveloped landscape of Dikhudu.
Rain-Fed Vitality
A 100% natural cycle. Our success is dictated by the skies, keeping the ancestral tradition of rain-fed agriculture alive and thriving.
